Desiree’s 29 years of experience distinguish her as a highly specialized and recognized attorney in her field of expertise. Prior to joining Krauskopf Kauffman, P.C., Desiree served as Of Counsel in the Trusts and Estates practice groups of two mid-size Chicago law firms, and as a contract trust attorney in a large nation-wide bank trust legal department.

Desiree has extensive experience in drafting estate plans which address the unique financial and benefit requirements of individuals and families. She is skilled at preparing revocable living trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and dynasty trusts (generation-skipping tax-exempt trusts). Desiree also works with clients to plan asset protection for their heirs.

Desiree handles estate and trust administration matters for decedents, including the administration of trusts created as probate avoidance vehicles. This administration includes preparing estate tax returns, probate, if required, or to cut off creditors’ claims against the estate, and assisting the estate’s representative in enforcing the wishes expressed in the decedent’s estate planning documents. Additionally, Desiree handles court-supervised guardianships for minors and disabled adults.
